Eco Communes and Villages
There are lots of settlements in the Caucasus that actually represent eco-villages. These places have reserved clean environment, the houses are built with ecologically clean materials, and the people are occupied with ecologically clean economy. (work on the ground with horses and mules, don’t use chemicals and make food without conservatives). They have reserved the tradition of supporting each other in case of misfortune and happy days, etc)
There still exist the elements of patrimonial-community life in the mountains. The old people discuss important issues and make decisions. The members of the community respect The Elder (community and religious leader).
We’ve started our purposeful work to create eco-villages on the bases of existing ones. Such villages in the Caucasus are a lot. We are arranging organizational issues with local authorities and with population as well. We are preparing methodology for working with them. Now we are going to represent some of the villages and we are sure this list will become longer gradually.
